The EMSI Archive

Authenticity

Every painting by EMSI is registered in the EMSI Archive. The artist remains unseen; the work remains accounted for.

I

The Archive code

Each work receives a unique Archive code — four letters and four numbers — when it leaves the studio. The code stays with the work for its whole life and identifies it on its certificate and on its page in the Archive.

II

The certificate

Each work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the EMSI Archive. A QR code on the certificate leads directly to the work’s page on this website.

III

Confidentiality

The Archive keeps the identity of every owner strictly confidential. No owner is ever named on this website, and no private information is published.

Verify a certificate

Enter the Archive code printed on your certificate.

Request an authentication

If you own a work attributed to EMSI that has no certificate, or you wish to confirm a work before acquiring it, write to the Archive. Include the Archive code, if known, and photographs of the front and the back of the work. Every request is examined individually. For reasons of security, the Archive does not disclose the methods it uses to verify a work.

A change of ownership

When a work changes hands, its new owner may ask the Archive to update the record. The Archive code and the certificate remain the same; the record is updated privately.
